Orofacial Myologist





Brittny earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene from the Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2011. She began her orofacial myofunctional therapy (OMT) journey in 2016. Brittny is the owner of CT Orofacial Myology.


As a certified orofacial myologist and healthcare professional, Brittny is always looking for ways to improve or better her patients’ quality of life. She believes orofacial myofunctional therapy is a huge aid in attaining those goals. Patient centered care is her top priority, along with reliability, responsibility, and dedication. She treats each patient uniquely and with the up-most integrity. She takes great pride in maintaining excellent rapport with her patients and patients’ families. It is one of the most rewarding facets of her job. She has experience with patients of all ages. Brittny takes a passionate and optimistic approach in preventing and treating the causes of orofacial myofunctional disorders, getting to the root of the problem, instead of merely treating the symptoms.


Brittny is always looking to expand her knowledge and skills by taking courses and keeping up to date on current literature and best industry practices. She works collaboratively with, and is well respected by dentists, orthodontists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons (OMFS), otolaryngologists (ENTs), speech language pathologists, and other local healthcare professionals.

Karese, like many parents and patients you may have, suffered in silence while her children struggled with the symptoms of undiagnosed sleep and breathing issues. One visit to a pediatric dentist changed the trajectory of their lives. Already a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH), Karese, trained with Sandra Holtzman, Lois Laynee and Sarah Hornsby to establish her orofacial myology knowledge. With this initial training and numerous others, in a few short years she has not only resolved all her children's issues, but helped hundreds of patients, children and adults alike, discover how great life can be functioning on full. Her private practice, The Myo Spot is now a leader in the quest for myofunctional therapy awareness and public education. Her latest published book, Accomplished, delves into how to sleep better, eliminate burnout, and execute goals.


Karese's personal mission is to transform and positively impact as many households as possible through dynamic breath, brain and body work. When not involved with helping dental professionals through education and mentorship, Karese enjoys time with her husband Harvey and four children.
